Abstract

This work highlights the potential application of a photoactivated soft-hard combined system that provides long-term biophysical (mild photothermal stimulation) and biochemical (on-demand ion delivery) cues for accelerated healing of diabetic bone defects.

  • ZIF-8 formed through the coordination between Zn2+ and 2-methylimidazole demonstrates superior biocompatibility and maintains structural stability in physiological environments.

“Among various MOFs, ZIF-8 formed through the coordination between Zn2+ and 2-methylimidazole demonstrates superior biocompatibility and maintains structural stability in physiological environments [42].”

From Hydrogel scaffold encapsulating MSC-Exos and ZIF-8 promotes bone regeneration via coordinating osteogenesis and immunomodulation (2025) · cites this paper as [42]

The Results and Discussion section on preparation and characterization states that ZIF-8 was formed by coordinating Zn2+ with 2-methylimidazole. The paper reports good cell compatibility for hydrogels containing PDA-coated ZIF-8, not superior biocompatibility of bare ZIF-8. It also finds the coated particles more stable than bare ZIF-8 in aqueous solution; it does not establish that bare ZIF-8 maintains structural stability in physiological environments. About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
