Abstract

micropore filling. The BET method is unlikely to yield a value of the actual surface area if the isotherm is either Type I or Type III; but both Type II and Type IV isotherms are, in general, amenable to the BET analysis, provided that the value of C is neither too low nor too high and that the BET plot is linear in the region of the isotherm containing Point B.The computation of mesopore size distribution is valid only if the isotherm is of Type IV, but in view of the complexity of most pore systems little is to be gained by the application of an elaborate method of computation. If a Type I isotherm exhibits a nearly constant adsorption at high relative pressure, the micropore volume is given by the amount adsorbed at the plateau. At present there is no reliable procedure available for the computation of the micropore size distribution from a single isotherm.A check list is recommended to assist authors in the measurement of adsorption isotherms and the presentation of the data in the primary literature. CONTENTS SECTION 1.Recent work has drawn attention to the complexity of capillary condensation in pore networks and has indicated that a pore size distribution curve derived from the desorption branch of the loop is likely to be unreliable if pore blocking effects occur. It is significant that a very steep desorption branch is usually found if the lower closure point of the loop is located at the limiting p/p° (see Section 5.3).In particular, the

Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • The adsorption capacities of UCSBC, Zn-modified and Mn-modified MCSBCs increase to a limiting value near a straight line when relative pressures (P/P0) are extremely low, meeting Type I adsorption isotherms.

“While, the adsorption capacities of the three specimens increase to a limiting value near a straight line when the relative pressures (P/P0) are extremely low, which meets the requirements of the Type I adsorption isotherms [21]”

From Modified coconut shell biochars (MCSBCs): Fabrication and their adsorptions for Pb(II) (2024) · cites this paper as [21]

Section 5.2 describes Type I isotherms as approaching a limiting uptake and notes that isotherms are often linear at sufficiently low coverage. It does not examine the three named specimens, and it places the approach to the limiting value as relative pressure approaches 1, not at extremely low relative pressure. (LLM, conf=0.86)

  • Obtained pigments have an isotherm shape corresponding to types IV and V according to the IUPAC classification.

“Obtained pigments have an isotherm shape corresponding to types IV and V according to the IUPAC classification [63,64] (Figure 3).”
  • The I-V profile of the Mo-RF electrode shows a similar shape to commercial electrode performance in alkaline electrolysers as reported by Amitava [37].

“The IeV profile of the Mo-RF electrode in Fig. 6 show similar shape with commercial electrode performance in alkaline electrolysers as reported by Amitava [37].”

From Investigation of molybdenum-(resorcinol–formaldehyde) (Mo-RF) electrode for alkaline electrolyser operation (2011) · cites this paper as [37]

Section 5.2 discusses the shapes of physisorption isotherms, not electrode I–V profiles. Searches for the Mo-RF electrode, commercial electrodes and alkaline electrolysis found no passage addressing the claimed comparison. (LLM, conf=0.78)

Experimental — accuracy not yet measured
  • The cell electrode voltage of the Mo-RF at 298 K is at lower ranges compared with a similar I-V profile at 348 K in that report.

“The cell electrode voltage of the Mo-RF at 298 K in Table 1 are at lower ranges compared with similar IeV profile at 348 K in that report.”

From Investigation of molybdenum-(resorcinol–formaldehyde) (Mo-RF) electrode for alkaline electrolyser operation (2011) · cites this paper as [37]

The cited paper discusses gas adsorption isotherms and porosity, including temperature control during adsorption measurements (section 4.2, page not available). Searches for Mo-RF electrode voltage and I–V profiles at 298 K and 348 K found no passage addressing that comparison. (LLM, conf=0.78)

Experimental — accuracy not yet measured

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
