Abstract

Chi3l1 /YKL-40 is regulated by BMAL1 in astrocytes and influences AD pathogenesis in both mouse models and humans.

  • YKL-40 has non-cell autonomous activity affecting microglial function, circadian clock, and AD progression.

“Recently YKL-40 has been shown to have non-cell autonomous activity in the brain, affecting microglial function, circadian clock, and generally AD progression [75].”

From Deletion of Abi3/Gngt2 influences age-progressive amyloid β and tau pathologies in distinctive ways (2022) · cites this paper as [75]

The Discussion reports that Chi3l1 deletion changes microglial phagocytosis and is associated with reduced amyloid plaques; it also reports an association between lower human YKL-40 and slower AD progression. But it says the microglial effect may be cell-autonomous, not that non-cell-autonomous activity was established. The Introduction says the astrocyte circadian clock regulates Chi3l1 expression, rather than YKL-40 affecting the clock. (LLM, conf=0.89)

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
