Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • Several independent studies using carbonate standardization yielded statistically indistinguishable slopes and intercepts for Δ47-temperature calibrations despite independent sample sets and, in one case, a different analytical system.

“These studies yielded statistically indistinguishable slopes and intercepts despite the use of independent sample sets and in the case of Peral et al. (2018), a different analytical system.”

From InterCarb: A Community Effort to Improve Interlaboratory Standardization of the Carbonate Clumped Isotope Thermometer Using Carbonate Standards (2021) · cites this paper as Peral et al. (2018)

Section 4.6 says three carbonate-standardized calibrations have virtually identical slopes, and the Conclusion calls this dataset indistinguishable from the reprocessed Kele et al. calibration. But Section 4.6 also says the cave-pearl calibration predicts slightly lower Δ47 values; it does not establish that all three intercepts are statistically indistinguishable. Section 2.3.1 identifies Peral et al.’s instrument, but does not establish the claimed difference from the other studies’ analytical systems. (LLM, conf=0.85)

  • The revised Kele et al. (2015) calibration has been confirmed by independent calibrations in other laboratories.

“and furthermore, this revised Kele (2015) calibration has been confirmed by independent calibrations in other laboratories (Peral et al. 2018, Meinicke et al. 2020; Breitenbach et al. 2018).”

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
